After serving twenty-five years for committing a mysterious and violent
crime, John is released from prison. Unfortunately, the first human
contact he has is with a maniacal parole officer. John's later experience
with a condescending new landlord isn't so great either, and together
these encounters effectively establish the bleak and miserable tone that
seems to characterize his life on the outside. Nevertheless, John works to
establish a routine as a way to counter his guilt and achieve a sense of
normalcy. However, he soon loses his way when a would-be actress awakens
certain deeply suppressed desires. These desires, in turn, trigger eerie
hallucinations and disturbing nightmares that recall a criminal past best
forgotten.

Working on the Red Room 2 DVD. It will be out on June 3rd so stay tuned
for some sleazy, over the top gut-busting gore! Here's the synopsis, kept
it brief cause there's some surprises we can not let out of the bag.
Red Room 2
SYNOPSIS
The sequel to the underground goretastic RED ROOM, RED ROOM 2 will leave
you gasping for air in its over-the-top, grueling portrayal of what people
will do for money. Up for grabs is another million dollars as four more
contestants enter into the RED ROOM. Locked there, they must play the King
game, a card game where each hand makes the loser participate in whatever
the winner wants or desires. The game is played until there is only one
survivor left. How much abuse can one person handle? How far will the
contestants go for hard earned cash? How far will you be able to watch the
contestants in the RED ROOM?
Also, Philosophy is slated for July 8th and Cannibal will be getting its
real release in July as well through TLA so we are excited about that. In
August, we are looking at Dead Fury and the 1st DVD in the Hari Kari
Series! Hurray!
Lots more going on than I can shake a stick at. I'm working with Patricio
Valladares, the director of Curriculum and I wrote the screenplay for the
upcoming film The Departyd. Yeah, I write screenplays as well. It's a very
hard-core script, if it isn't dealing with twisted sex, it's about vicious
horror and it's right up my alley. How could it not be, I wrote it. LOL
The Departyd is about a Aztec priest who is trying to bring one of the
ancient Aztec Gods back to life through a twisted sacrificial orgy of
unparalleled proportions. I had lots of fun writing this and it definitely
shows. Casting and production are going on and there's a myspace page if
you're interested. www.myspace.com/departydmovie
There's a teaser trailer for it so check it out.
Lots more going on but I don't want to bog you down with everything we are
doing.
Too much information overload can be a bad thing. So I'll gab at you
later.

Greetings
Gore Hounds and Dead Women,
Lets see, where should I start? Yes, Hunting Creatures is hitting the
shelves on March 11th and it's the 1st in our German Underground Splatter
line of dvd's. Filled with gore, cheesy acting and underground death
metal, this should give you a taste of what's in store for you from the
deep recesses of Germany.
What's it about, an underground rave in an abandoned chemical plant
unleashes a vile toxin that changes people into ravenous, flesh eating
monsters. A small band of hitmen and scientists are on the hunt to kill em
good.
Hunting Creatures is 72 Minutes and has a behind the scenes featurette,
deleted scenes, photo gallery and trailers for upcoming Unearthed Titles.
Next up is Das komabrutelle Duell, an in your face slaughterfest that
rivals Premutos and Braindead with outrageous gore and sumptuous geysers
of blood! This is underground gore from Germany so expect crazed
decapitations, disembowelment, chainsaw eviscerations and crazy glue brain
surgery. Did I mention the squishing fetuses and eyeball gouging much less
the total disregard for decency and moral values? Hell no! Das
Komabrutelle Duell was banned in 2007 by the German Government. They
actually raided the company that owned the film and actually took all of
the elements and everything they had on the film. Needless to say, we were
lucky to get the elements before this happened.
Das Komabrutelle Duell is set for April 1st and extra features will
include, behind the scenes, digital effects comparison, outtakes, deleted
scenes and of coarse more trailers for future Unearthed Product.
Then we have Patrick Roddy's MERCY slated for May 6th and then Red Room 2
for June! I'll tell you more about these films as we get closer but your
in for a treat!
I'm really excited to be releasing the underground German gore films.
Cannibal was our first and those who saw it in it's very limited release
was shocked and appalled by the brutality of it. Speaking of Cannibal, we
will be giving it it's official release thru TLA Releasing. Probably in
the summer so keep an eye out for it.
Speaking of TLA Releasing, they have been a wonderful company to work
with. Their doing their very best to get our whole OOP inventory back out
into the marketplace. Yeah, we have had more problems with distribution
then any other company out there. I think you can tell when our titles are
released then disappear and then reappear and then disappear again, off
the shelves.
Well, for the 1st time in a long time, everything is available.
Frankenhooker, Aftermath, Bonesickness, City of Rott, Ichi-1, Black Sun
the Nanking Massacre, Rubber's Lover, Pinocchio 964, Boy Meets Girl, Rock
and Rule, Evil Dead Trap 2, Frankenstein's Bloody Nightmare, Lethal Force,
Nails and Visions of Suffering and Red Room. Red Room was a very limited
release and as were all of our titles that came out in 2006 and early 2007
so if you wanted to see them, now they have the distribution they deserve
thanks to TLA.
Now for some awesome news. As you all know, our 1st produced film is
called Philosophy of a Knife and it's directed by Andrey Iskanov. We have
all of the elements in our greedy little hands and we have kept this very
close to our hearts. No longer, we are now into overdrive with it since it
seems that we cannot get it into any film festival what-so-ever. Due to
the horrific content and non stop violence of the film, it has been a
fight but we will be finally releasing it in July. There will be two
versions of the dvd. One will be the 4 hour long film with no extra's and
a single dvd disc. The other version will be a limited edition of 5000
numbered copies and comes in a two disc set with all of the trimmings.
Music video's, behind the scenes, deleted scenes and the whole shebang. It
will also come with a different cover and some very nasty artwork. We are
talking to retailers now about how far we can push the envelope with it.
We will already be pushing the envelope with the film as I've had several
people refuse to watch it after watching the trailer. DO NOT expect to see
this dvd in too many retailers. If you do, grab it and run away like you
just found the Holy Grail!
Yes, we are back into hard-core violent mode and with our 1st film, you
can expect to be blown away. I've sent several screeners, actually just a
handful to magazines and websites to watch and review so expect to see the
reviews start to pop up on Philosophy of a Knife. I am dying to see how
the reviews play out since it's 4 hours long and filled with some of the
most brutal footage ever shown and I am not kidding around. You will have
to have a very hard stomach to watch it and I am dying to see what happens
when normal horror reviewers watch it. I mean, what would happen if
Cannibal Holocaust, Nekromantic or Make Them Die Slowly was shot now with
the animal deaths? How would it be perceived much less reviewed? There
wasn't a single animal hurt or abused in Philosophy of a Knife., But
humans. That's another question entirely. I'll let your mind wrap around
that question for a moment.
I have a very limited amount of screeners for those in the press so
contact us at unearthedfilms@aol.com to request a screener of the film.
This is only for you big boys out there since we have a small amount and
we will build the momentum as the months count down for the July release.
So that's it for now. I'll stay in touch more as new news comes across the
embalming table.

Press
Release from Unearthed Films Inc.
Unearthed Films is proud to announce a new distribution agreement with TLA
Releasing. Stephen Biro, President of Unearthed says, "We are very eager
to start releasing our entire library of product thru TLA. They are a
great company who are releasing edgy, interesting product into the
marketplace. We feel that, with their knowledge of Japanese cinema and
their independent and mainstream channels, they will be able to give us
the push we have been needing for years. A good portion of our product
that has been unavailable since 2005 will now get a proper release. Our
newer titles will finally be exposed to a much broader customer
base.
We have always been looking for a home, so we can just concentrate on
acquiring and making great films. TLA will give us the freedom we need to
concentrate on our future projects.
TLA Exec. Director Richard Ross has this to say about the acquisition of
Unearthed Films for distribution. "We are so proud and excited to be
working with Unearthed Films. Their talent for acquiring new cutting edge
product and their amazing catalog are a perfect addition to our new
diverse lineup."
Beginning Oct 30th, TLA will be distributing the reissue of Unearthed
Films "Ichi-1" and "Black Sun: The Nanking Massacre." Following on
November 13th will be the release of two more catalog titles, "Pinocchio
964" and "Rubber's Lover", which will be followed by the new title "This
Hollow Sacrament" on Nov 27th. Then on Dec 11th, two more catalog titles,
Evil Dead Trap 2 and Rock & Rule will be released, in addition to the new
UK horror film Footsteps.
"We plan on releasing two catalog titles and one new release every month.
We have had e-mails from so many unhappy fans that they haven't been able
to find any of our new releases over the last year. By the end of 2008, we
should have released our entire catalog, in addition to one new title each
month.

Dear
Gorehounds and Dead Women,
Hope all is well in your undead section of the world. It's quite sticky
and maggot infested here at Unearthed Films Headquarters. I guess we kept
too many dead bodies laying around for our own good. Anyway, looks like we
have another film coming out, it's actually today of days. It's called
Frankensteins Bloody Nightmare and it's directed by John Hand. This crazed
individual is the master of Pulsing Cinema and he has made a film that is
close to his black encrusted heart.
What is it about you may ask? Well, here's the synopsis…
Brilliant young Victor Karlstein finds himself lost in an abyss of
personal turmoil and professional stress after the woman he most likely
seemed to love dies while under the care of his own mysterious medical
facility. Determined to keep her alive, Victor uses his
mechanically-enhanced reanimated corpse to murder young women in order to
furnish "raw parts" for her new body, among other devious things.
A grainy echo of experimental and fantastic films of years past rendered
in wild splashes of saturated super-8 cinematography, Frankensteins Bloody
Nightmare is the debut feature from writer/producer/director John R. Hand.
This film is quite experimental and John has a knack for disturbing images
and far out visuals. It maybe a little to far out for some of you but for
those of you that love the throwback films of the 70's with a dash of
David Lynch, then this is what you get.
On the forefront of our assault on your senses, we have This Hollow
Sacrament from Greg Stechman, A reality based serial killer flick with
real war footage taken from Iraq, Gareth Evan's Footsteps, a low down and
gritty British film that takes you into the seedy underground of violent
video photography, Carmilla, the Lesbian Vampire by Vince D"Amato.
Originally released as Vampires VS Zombies but we have the uncut version
of it. The Hari-Kari Series all in Gorno-vision and the sequel to the
gorebuster hit Red Room, RED ROOM 2. We have plenty more films like Mercy
from Patrick Roddy which is now getting rave reviews around the web… more
splatter from Germany and Japan that is almost to numerous to mention.
On the flip side, I have to tell you something. Come over here… get real
close… closer… closer… It's done.
Philosophy of a Knife that is! It's finally finished; our 1st film and I
do have to say. Holy Crap! We just finished watching it over at Rhett's
house on his huge TV and my god! It's a sight to behold. I've seen a lot
of films before and I have seen a lot of documentaries and I have never
seen anything like this! It's a gorehounds wet dream of shock, gore and
torture all while learning what a secret section of the Japanese
Government was doing to learn about the secrets of what the human body can
handle. Every single experiment is recreated and never before seen facts
are disturbingly brought out to the forefront for everyone to see.
My jaw hit the floor on several of the gore scenes and this film will go
down in history unlike any other gore film since it is the 1st of its
kind. I really couldn't believe what Andrey Iskanov did in Russia to come
up with the special effects. It's amazing and runs 4 hours long. The
documentary is split into two parts and I do have to say, Discovery
Channel, eat your heart out! We will be showcasing this at film festivals
around the world and see what the critics and other companies have to say
about it.
Anyway, I have to get the rotten corpses out of the library to get ready
to move. I think our headquarters is getting a little too hot and the
smell is starting to get to the neighbors. Maybe I should set it on fire
to conceal the evidence. That's a great idea so I'm off for some kerosene.
Talk to you later.

Megalomaniac
Unearthed Films

Well, the DVDs have been churning out onto the streets of the United States and I am happy to say, they have been flowing with blood ever since. Cannibal has been making quite the noise since its release and I am happy to say, more reviews and fans have been coming out of the woodwork and stating that it is the grossest film they have ever seen!
That is, until they get to see the Red Room! We just released this baby and it is making its way to you. If you haven't found a copy, which I do know, it's a little hard to find our product currently. You can always pick it up from our store.
We just dropped the prices on ALL of our library titles
Red Room is a hardcore, in your face disgust-a-thon that should leave a bad taste in your mouth. If not, you're now a part of the gore connoisseurs and I wish you luck in finding horror films that make you squirm. I guess to be frank with you, if you get our newsletter and know who we are, you already a part of the elite. A member of the shock troops of the mind, your unrepentant gorehounds who must see and get your taste for blood without killing anyone. Congratulations! You have my heartfelt thanks in letting your demons out, in a controlled way. Otherwise, the murder toll in America would jump up over 300%.
So let me give you the lowdown on Red Room.
So, what would you do for a million dollars? Are you desperate enough to enter the RED ROOM? In this latest and most vicious game show to emerge from the Japanese underground, four contestants (two men and two women_ are locked in the Red Room to draw cards in the "King Game". Whichever player draws the King card gets to select one of the other contestants to enter a cage where one performs the most outrageous acts upon his unlucky victim.
The Game is played to the death! Survivor takes all, and the losers go home in body bags.
Yeah, I'm in a mood! So, a lot of our DVDs have been getting the thumbs up from the fans but the thumbs down from the retailers. I saw this coming as the major retailers put the mom pops out of business and now they are going for the more mainstream titles that they want to shove down your throat. Sort of sucks to be a gorehound now, everything is becoming available but without mainstream help, the cool gore product will slowly become harder to find. I guess it might be for the best if I can get a lot of you to buy directly from us.
Lethal Force is doing well, everyone who has seen it, loves it so go down to Hollywood Video and rent it or buy it from somewhere. Frankenhooker is now becoming a bigger hit then it was when it was first released. Making a lot of Top Ten lists for 2006 and rave reviews over the DVD itself. Yeah, we did some work on it to say the least but we received some major help from Frank Hennenlotter, Patty Mullen, Gabe Bartalos and Jennifer Delora. Frank is busy working on his upcoming film, Bad Biology and I do have to say, it looks outrageous. Can't tell you anything about this, trade secrets you know.
Andrey Iskanov's Nails and Visions of Suffering is expanding the consciousness of those who witness the atrocity of his films. Find 'em and kill for them! Brian Paulin's Bone Sickness is still rising up the charts into indie gore cult status and Frank Sudol's City of Rott is just plain fun!
On another note, Rock & Rule has now become a MAJOR cult phenom and copies of the two disc limited edition are selling for over 300 bucks. I guess a lot of people thought we bit the dust so copies aren't available anymore BUT THEY ARE! So find you one and stick it on ebay and make lots of cash. The same with Aftermath, Aftermath's OOP price is $50.00, it's not out of print but a lot of people think it is so pick this up before we get into Salo 120 days in Sodom pricing which was 800 bucks a shot.
John Hand's Frankensteins Bloody Nightmare is almost ready and we are looking at an early April release. This strange giallo type is a throw back to the early 70's underground film making style where twisted visuals and odd perceptions with your horror was the norm and I am thrilled to release it. Then we are onto This Hallow Sacrament based on true events and shot by up and coming director Greg Stechman. Afterwards, we managed to get our hands on the lesbian vampire thriller Carmilla The Lesbian Vampire. This is the uncut version of course. We have to have all the blood and all the boobs intact to have a proper lesbian vampire flick. Working hard on Das Komabrutelle Duell, Hunting Creatures and Ostermontag. Trying to find good elements for Violent Shit but it doesn't look good. Will keep you informed on this.
I just got more of the dailies from Andrey for Philosophy of a Knife and I do have to say, you're in for a treat. This will be our first film in conjuncture with Andrey and it's going to blow everyone away. I do have to say, it is THE HARSHEST FLM I HAVE EVER SEEN! So stay tuned, this will become an event when it's finally released. Hopefully, we can get it into the film festival circuit and blow some minds. If you run a festival or are connected in any way, send us an email. Also, we have many films that you can show so contact us and lets get the ball rolling to bring newbies into the fold. So that's about it, just wanted to give you a brief update on Unearthed and pimp our site once more. If your having a hard time finding our stuff, get right from this website.

Greetings
Gore Hounds and Dead Girls,
It's time again for another installment of the Unearthed Films Newsletter!
We have good news! After a year of screwing around with our old
distributor, we have found a new home. The company is called Anthem
Pictures and we are working closely with them for the release of the whole
Unearthed Catalog. This will include the re-release of all our older
titles and yes, at long last, our new films will finally start coming your
way. Anthem DVD is a great company and u can find them at
www.anthemdvd.com
Here is the low down on our new releases. CITY OF ROTT, the extended
version, made exclusively for Unearthed Films will be coming out on August
8th. Filled with tons of extras and one of the most beautiful conversions
I have ever seen. This animated gore-fest will blow you away. Made by
Frank Sudol who worked on the South Park films, you can guess what you're
in store for.
Next up is Andrey Iskanov's Russian horror film NAILS. This is Andrey's
first film, a kaleidoscope of gore, surrealism and whacked-out philosophy
that literally hits the nail on the head. This is the first film in our
upcoming Russian Horror Collection. Release date for NAILS is August 15th.
Next up is Brian Paulin's BONE SICKNESS. This is another in an exclusive
line of films that have additional gore-filled scenes made exclusively for
us. This over the top, zombie gut-muncher is loaded with gore, boobs,
decaying zombies and just plain old sticky sickness. Filled with tons of
extras. Release date for this monstrosity is Aug 29th. And yes, if you
have seen the original, the Sickness just got sicker!
So, that's three new DVDs for the month of August. Next up for September
is VISIONS OF SUFFERING, Andrey Iskanov's second feature film containing
an extra 40 minutes worth of added gore and computer effects made
exclusively for Unearthed Films. Talk about Directors Cuts! This
surrealistic splatter film would have Cronenberg and Lynch jealously
wishing they had made it! Seriously, Andrey is such a fantastic director
that we are in the middle of producing more films with him. More later
about this! Release date for VISIONS OF SUFFERING is not yet set in stone
BUT it will be in September and we will let you know in a week or two.
FRANKENHOOKER is set for. you guessed it, October, just in time for
Halloween. This is the uncut director's version. Tons of extras, like u
have come to know and love from us including a commentary by Frank
Hennenlotter and Gabe Bartalos, a 19 minute featurette called A Stitch In
Time with behind the scenes footage and starring Gabe and the rest of the
crew of Frankenhooker. A crazed Jennifer Delora Interview and a sneak peek
in her scrapbook and last but not least, an interview with Penthouse
Playmate of the Year and Frankenhooker star, Patty Mullen!
Then for November, it's LETHAL FORCE! An outrageous mix of kung fu, comedy
and gore with a 70's atmosphere and a John Woo directorial feel about it.
Sort of hard to explain but it's got the goods and I'm sticking to my
story. LOL Loaded with extras including a commentary, short films,
extensive photo gallery and more.
For December, we are hoping to have ready the first in our series of
German Gore Films. First up will be the new and outrageous CANNIBAL (based
on the true story of the crazed guy in Germany who advertised on the
internet for a victim to eat, an ad that was answered and a victim duly
eaten). This film has been banned in Germany. We will follow up with the
infamous DAS KOMABRUTALE DUELL and HUNTING CREATURES, to be quickly
followed by a slate of new and known German-made splatter and gore. We are
looking at releasing at least one DVD a month from now on. I know a lot of
you have complained about not getting a steady flow of sickness from us
and it's been mostly due to troubles with our old distributor but, with
Anthem, we are hoping to get into a nice groove and never looking back.
Now onto some of the other new films we have picked up for you. In the
spirit of the RED ROOM films, we have also acquired MU ZAN E, GIRLSCHOOL
HELL and KYOKO VS YUKI from Japan. These vile films from the Tokyo
underground should give you a good kick in the teeth. You can find the
trailer for MU ZAN E and RED ROOM on our DVD of FLOWER OF FLESH AND BLOOD.
It's in the "making of chapters" on the Making of The Guinea Pig Films
disc. If u find em, check em out!
We have been busy little cadavers over here and have almost finished
producing our new film in Russia with Director Andrey Iskanov, PHILOSOPHY
OF A KNIFE. Yes, Unearthed Films has now moved into production mode and,
if you think we have dished up the gore to date, wait until you see what
we have in store for you here. In fact, we have a trailer cut for
PHILOSOPHY and it's now on Unearthed's MySpace site. Go to
www.myspace.com/unearthedfilms and check it out.
PHILOSOPHY OF A KNIFE is based on the Japanese chemical and biological
experiments of the infamous Unit 731. We tracked down an actual survivor
of the atrocities for added realism. This film is balls-to-the-wall and is
destined to become one of the all time great cult-gore films; a film that
will be heralded as a masterpiece of atrocity. I'm serious, two people
ended up badly hurt in the hospital while making this film. The gore sets
and scenes or so over the top that I even had to yell at Andrey for going
overboard. And that's a first for me!
Next up from Andrey Iskanov and Unearthed Films is ANGEL DUST. The story
is in development and we will be working closely with Andrey to make yet
another Siberian gem, an atrocity with teeth that will take a bloody chunk
out of the soul of the viewer. Will tell you more on this as development
proceeds.
Brian Paulin is now in the editing stages of FETUS. This is another film
we have helped produce with Brian and it looks like it's going to be very
rough. The story of a man whose wife dies during childbirth and who slowly
begins to lose his mind as he tries to find a way to contact his dead
spouse. He murders the doctors that were involved in his wife's death and
tries to resurrect her using the dead body parts of all who were involved.
The demonic forces released by his insanity proceed to rip and tear
everyone apart Brian Paulin-style. This film crosses way over the line and
if u think BONESICKNESS had a lot going for it, wait until you see this
film!
We will also be producing Brian Paulin's BONE SICKNESS 2. We are working
on the script as we speak and finalizing special effects and zombie
prosthetics to make it even more disgusting then the original Bone
Sickness.
I am so thrilled about all of these releases. Most of them are brand new
or exclusive directors cuts that have never been seen before. If you own
any of the Unearthed Films Library, you know what your in store for. So be
prepared. be forewarned. Unearthed is coming back with a vengeance!

Hey Unearthed Films Fans,
Long time no hear. Hope everyone is doing well and up to their armpits in
gore. Lots going on as always and all sorts of goodies are getting ready
to get churned out. I bet you're wondering where we have been for the last
couple of months. We have been finalizing our new deal with our
distributor so it took us out of the loop for a little bit but it looks
like we will be back in action really soon.
Some of you might have noticed that we sold
Discotek Media
the rights for Electric Dragon. Discotek is a great company and since we
do sell film rights to other companies and they are the new guys on the
block, we decided it would be a great release for them. I think some of
you know that we were film agents before Unearthed and we still are. If
you make indie horror films or have a library of films to sell, contact us
for worldwide representation. Check out our International Film Agent
Company called Cine Sales at
www.cine-sales.com
we handle tons of films for foreign sales to DVD companies across the
globe. If you are looking to buy films for domestic release, contact us at
Heneverdies@aol.com to see what
we have for you.
We have been very busy getting ready to start producing films ourselves.
As you know, we strive to bring you the best in ultra hardcore splatter
films. You can only guess what we have in store for you. Below, you can
see some of what we are doing for our own releases. We have been lucky
enough to work with the producers and directors of upcoming films in the
Unearthed line up and you will see a pattern. Some of these films have
been extended and extra gore added for exclusive Unearthed DVD content. No
one in any other company does this except us.
Now we have DVDs finished and ready to go. 1st up will be Andrey Iskanov's
Nails followed by Visions of Suffering. Russian Horror films, how can u
not love that! Then City of Rott, Lethal Force and then Frankenhooker!
Read below for some of the fun we have in store for you for 2006!
We also decided to look for splatter across the globe and we found the
mother load, in Germany! The German Ultra Splatter Collection will be the
finest in splatter from the land of, well you know. We are going to wash
you in the blood of Germans for quite a bit so stay tuned and be afraid,
very afraid.
Also, we have joined the ranks of myspace and you can check us out at
www.myspace.com/unearthedfilms to see what we are up to. I'll be doing
a blog very soon so watch out. I think you guys will find out just how
crazy we really are. So check us out and become one of our many friends.
The Guinea Pig Contest is OVER! We will be announcing the winners by 1st
name on the website and we will be contacting you officially in a week Feb
17th 2006. The Grand Prize will now be announced and it will be the
original Flower of Flesh and Blood painting that was used for the DVD
cover! How freaking cool is that! All runner-ups will get the oversized
prints we promised. Sorry it took so long to finish the contest but we
wanted to make sure everyone had the chance to enter.

Greetings Gorehounds,
Good news, Rock & Rule is finally finished and the street date is
June 7th. We have a 2 disc and a single disc version filled with so many
extras it should make your head spin. We did a total frame-by-frame Hi-Def
film restoration that should make it one of the sweetest DVDs we have
released to date. It also includes a newly remastered Dolby Digital 5.1 surround
soundtrack.
Anyway, Ichi-1 looks like a July release and then followed by the
Aftermath/Genesis Double Feature in August/early Sept. The Russian
gore film Nails is almost done and should be out Oct. The film
Angst by Andrey Iskanov out of Russia has had a title change. We found
that another company is releasing a DVD with the same name so we talked to
the director and since the film is brand new, he changed the title to
Visions of Suffering. Now Visions of Suffering is a hallucinogenic
gore film that had a running time of about 75 minutes. We talked to the
director and he wanted to do something special for us so he went back to
the film and shot another hour of total gore and hallucinations for the
film. He mentioned that he wanted to do that in the first place and with
our picking up the film, he could go back and make it the way he wanted to
in the 1st place. I mean, what can I say, another hour worth of gore and
demented visuals just for us? Freaking awesome if you ask me.
Speaking of adding new scenes to already outrageous gore films, director
Brian Paulin is almost finished shooting another 10 to 12 outrageous gore
scenes for the already over the top indie zombie film Bone Sickness.
I do have to say, Bone Sickness is making a splash on the net and everyone
who has seen it is saying it's one of the best zombie films of the year,
and these guys have only seen the regular version. It's like if Peter
Jackson went back to Braindead and shot another 30 minutes of zombie gore
action for a release on DVD. The fans would go wild and this is exactly
what Paulin is doing for us. From what Brian described to me, the scenes
are so over the top, that Bone Sickness should be in everyone's
collection.
Oh, I get to announce the new films we picked up. Some of them might not
be a surprise to you if you know the easter eggs on the Flower of Flesh
and Blood DVD. I finally get to announce THE RED ROOM movies. Yeah baby,
Red Room #1 and Red Room #2 are so vile and nasty and just
oh so over the top, they give the Guinea Pigs a run for their money. The
story behind these monstrosities out of Japan is... It's a game show for
the demented, "That means us folks!" 4 people are trapped in a room and
they have to play a game of cards. The winner of each hand and the loser
has to go into a cage for a limited amount of time. The winner gets to do
whatever he wants to the loser and I do mean anything. When the time is
up, the 4 people play another hand and so on and so forth. Now a gimmick
they have, is that they have a drawer full of things, light bulbs,
toothbrushes, tape... you know odds and ends and the people get to use
these instruments in whatever they want to do to the loser of each hand.
As each round of the game moves ahead, they begin to tear each other apart
until only one person is left. These films are vile and we had to check
with our lawyer to see if could actually release them. We have the making
of the films and some other goodies to go with the DVDs.
We also picked up another freaking outrageous Japanese gore film called
Sisters of Blood. This is really vile as well and I do mean sick. It's
about two sisters who are raped so horribly, I think it makes I Spit On
Your Grave look like a walk in the park. They fight back of course by
killing any guy they come across, rather viciously I might add. Really
cool story and a nice surprise ending. We had to check with our lawyer
about this release as well. It seems that the level of outrageousness and
disgustingness is going up in the horror films. Actually, so much that I'm
having to write an article for Ultra Violent Magazine about it and the
state of the underground versus legitimate releases through mainstream
retailers and the laws of the good ole US of A and how it can effect the
whole horror industry. Should be a cool read.
What else, what else, oh yeah, we just picked up this cool kung fu,
comedy, gore spoof film called Lethal Force. Lots of kung fu chop
socky action mixed with gore and comedy that spoofs John Woo films. I
could almost say it's exactly like Kill Bill except it was made, before
Kill Bill. Shot on 16 MM with tons of great reviews. We are working
closely with Sir Alvin D. Ecarma on this release.
Frankenhooker is working hard for us. Henenlotter will be going
over the telecine from the uncut print for us so I think it's going to
look smashing. Sounds like we have some behind the scenes footage from
Gabe Bartalos of the effects so the DVD sounds like it's going to be Super
Crack!
More films on the way as always. I'll keep you informed as best as I can.
Oh, almost forgot. The TF Mou contest, the winner who guessed the most
films that TF has worked on was a total of 124 films! Yep, you heard it
right, 124 films. TF worked on more then that but he doesn't even remember
em all. Also, we had a total of 4 other people who entered the contest and
they all got a free DVD just for entering. Yep, you see what you missed by
not sending us an email with a couple of titles listed.
Bleedingly yours,
Stephen Biro
Unearthed Films

Frankenhooker!
Yeah baby! Frank Henenlotter’s best film to date will be given the
whole ultimate DVD treatment, as Frank is willing to work with us to make
this a true collectors edition with all of the trimmings. This DVD release
should be finished rather quickly, in 3 to 4 months then we can start
presales which take another 3 to 4 months. Shooting for a Sept / Oct 2005
release just in time for Halloween. All of the materials are around so we
won't have to search high a low like we do for some of our films so this
will make things easier.
We also picked up an ultra gruesome, massive gore heavy independent zombie
film called Bone Sickness. Director Brian Paulin pulls no punches and
unleashes one of the coolest indie zombie films that gives Premutos a run
for its money. If you'd like, check out the review from Uncle Creepy over at
the Horror Channel. Click
here:
The Horror Channel :: It's gonna
be a MONSTER!!!
Now Uncle Creepy has seen the regular version of Bone Sickness and gives
it 5 stars, Dir. Paulin is actually going back to the drawing board, just
for the Unearthed Films release and adding about 5 to 8 more ultra gore
scenes that are supposed to knock your dicks in the dirt. Bone Sickness
already goes into massive splatter territory so you can just imagine what
is going to be added for our release. It will have commentary, outtakes,
deleted scenes, you know the whole shebang.
We are finally getting our gore-encrusted groove on as Pinocchio and
Rubber's Lover just arrived from the manufacturers and the discs look
freaking awesome! DVD reviews are starting to churn the Internet and the
films so far blow everyone away. Release date is Dec 28th, so find these
bad boys, alter your state and enjoy. I'm tickled red that everyone is
digging the cyberpunk.
Guinea Pig #4 Devil Doctor Woman and the Guinea Pig Box Set are coming out
Jan 25th. Box set looks great, alternate flip covers are cool and we
redesigned the actual DVD’s labels themselves so they look cool and the
price can't be beat for the box set. People have asked if we were going to
put in a t-shirt like the German box set that was released almost 3 years
ago. I have one of those t-shirts and the box set and it sucked, no
graphics on it, flimsy, fell apart and it just said, "Would you be my...
Guinea Pig?" I, as a horror fan, would rather put the GP set out as cheap
as we could, so everyone that hasn't watched them, could actually afford
them.
R&R is almost finished, it's in the final stages of restoration, going
through the MTI Digital Restoration System for final clean up and then
it's done! Freaking about time huh? Ichi-1 is almost finished, subtitles
done, menu design done. Nails is being converted this week, subs for that
done, materials going over. Aftermath now has a fresh HD anamorphic
transfer with a 5.1 surround sound track that's going to leave your
lifeless date breathless. I'm telling ya, necrophilia has never looked so
good.
We are running in a problem with Revenge of Billy the Kid. It seems that
this DVD company that has released bootlegs on DVD of some very high
profile films, Cannibal Holocaust, Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles, is now
taking a crack at one of our films Revenge of Billy the Kid. Our lawyers
are working on this and we do plan on making these bastards pay. These
cheap bastards are making a DVD of a bad videotape dup anyway so it won't
be worth it but it still pisses me off since we announced this film a long
time ago. The hold up has been finding good materials and prints.
What else.... Black Sun is freaking some normal people out since it has
become available through a lot of mainstream outlets but hey, war is Hell.
Been getting a lot of kudos on our releases so we are pleased that our
hard work is paying off. This is only a quick update, just had to tell you
about Frankenhooker and Bone Sickness.
Yours in Blood,
Stephen Biro

Stephen here from Unearthed. We finally
tracked down T.F. Mou and managed to get him to sign and number 50 Black
Sun DVDs for us. We wanted to offer the collectors something exceptional
for their DVD library and what better than a very limited supply of
collectible DVD's from the recluse director of Men Behind the Sun and
Black Sun: The Nanking Massacre.
And for everyone that was looking for us at Chiller Theater, I'd like to
apologize for not showing up. We got flooded with new materials and
working on procuring new films and I just didn't have the time to go. Hope
you understand.
Lots more going on over here then I can write in this quick blurb in the
news section. Will update next week with all the happenings then.

The next Guinea Pig DVD: Devil Doctor Woman / Guinea Pig's Greatest Cuts
Double Feature is slated for January as well as the Box Set. We will let
you know the date in the middle of September as well as the rest of our
release dates for everything else. Since we now have a home for
distribution and we are working closely with Ventura so we can start
fucking up North America. Unearthed Films will be running a whole lot
smoother then ever before. Here's what we have lined up and the months..
Devil Doctor Woman / Guinea Pig's Greatest
Cuts Double Feature – January 2005
Guinea Pig Box Set – January 2005
Rock and Rule and Rock and Rule Double Disc Collectors Set –
February or March 2005. It really depends
on what the mainstream DVD companies are releasing in those months. It
will be one of those two months, just figuring out when would be the best.
Ichi-1 – March 2005
Aftermath / Genesis Double Feature – April 2005
Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts – May 2005
Angst – June 2005
Nails – July 2005
Revenge of Billy the Kid – August 2005
6 More films to be announced...
We were trying our best to get Black Sun out for October or September but
the retailers pre-order the stuff 3 to 4 months in advance. The release
for Black Sun on November 16th is sort of a last ditch effort to get it
out the earliest it can.
Now I know I've been talking for a long time about us getting our DVD’s
released once a month. We just went through the same problems as Synapse
trying to wrangle with distributors and such and everything is taken care
of now so you will be seeing our product come out on time, in retail
stores and at least once a month.
I'll be at the Chiller Theater Horror Convention on Oct 29-31. I finally
got a table and will be hanging out. If your there, come scream at me and
I'll give you a discount and enter you into a contest for free DVD’s I'll
be giving away at the show. Make sure you yell loud so people look at us
questionably.
Oh, we are looking for painters for future DVD covers. If you know of any,
send em our way. Also, we will be having future contests and stuff for
everyone that is a member of the Unearthed Films Newsgroup. We will let
you know when it happens. Guinea Pig contest will finally end in February.
We will probably give away a couple of the negatives to some of you as
well since we have a lot.
So stay tuned and thanks for the support.

Hope all is well with everyone. Lots going on
here at Unearthed Films. We are finishing up our new distribution deal and
will soon be releasing a whole slate of films. I apologize to you guys for
having kept you waiting so long but the red tape and legal mumbo jumbo has
taken forever.
We have picked up more films and, if you check out the website at
www.unearthedfilms.com, you will find Ichi-1 splattered all over the front
of our site. Yes, we have picked up the "kick in your face till you're
spitting teeth" prequel to Ichi the Killer. Starring Nao Omori of course
as Ichi from Ichi the Killer and Teah as Mr. Dai, star of Takashi Miike's
City of Lost Souls. The Ichi-1 DVD will have an interview with Takashi
Miike and director Masato Tanno and anything else we can dredge from the
depths of Japanese coolness.
We have also picked up two ultra gore-fests from Russia called.... Nails
and Angst. Up and coming director Andrey Iskanov splatters the screen with
these two highly psychedelic, over-the-top blood feasts that need to be
seen to be believed. Nails is about a detective that uses the art of
"Trepan" (crudely hammering holes in his head with nails) in order to see
the demons that await us beyond the veil of reality. Angst is a visually
intoxicating gore-fest about an alien disguised as a man whose friends get
killed in ferociously compelling ways. I've been lucky enough to preview
some of the footage from Mr. Iskanov's latest film that he's still working
on in Moscow and I do have to say...it looks vicious! The DVDs will be
filled to the gills with so many extras that I'm hoping we can fit them
all on!
As for our other upcoming DVD’s, we have finished the mastering of Black
Sun: The Nanking Massacre and Pinocchio 964, and, with a little clean up
on the subs of the video interview with director Shozin Fukui, Rubber's
Lover will also be done. The Devil Doctor Woman menu design is finished
and so are the subs for this and The Making of Devil Doctor Woman. The
complete Guinea Pig Box Set will be released at the same time as Devil
Doctor Woman for those people waiting to pick up all the Guinea Pigs at
one time.
We will be releasing Black Sun in late September/early October but, no
matter what, we won't keep you waiting any longer. Then it looks like a
DVD a month from then on, though we might skip December because the retail
outlets will be concentrating on the Hollywood crap and retailers would
rather kick their own mothers in the gut then carry something cool and
edgy like the Guinea Pig Box Set for Christmas. Everyone knows pseudo
snuff and gore is what everyone really wants to watch on TV for Christmas
instead of those crappy parades your Mom wants you to watch while your
uncle Harry is drunk on too much eggnog.
The Aftermath/Genesis DVD is scheduled for release right after Rock and
Rule. We picked up an audio extra from Mental Funeral Zine. It's an audio
interview with Nacho Cerda, Bill Connolly and Devon Gardner. Nice added
bonus for the disc. Working on a background visual thing for the DVD to
accompany it.
Rock and Rule baby! Oh man, so much stuff, so many freaking extra's it's
not even funny. Looking at a February release for it. If you want to know
more, join the Yahoo group Rockrule in Yahoo or on our website in the news
section. Just sent out a massive newsletter that was 5 pages long on all
the extra's, print specs, polls that need to be filled out to see what
everyone wants on the DVD since we have so much stuff. Won't add it here
since this seems to be the gore hounds newsletter. Will ask my webmaster
to add that newsletter on the site somewhere for people to check out.
What else, what else... Okay, You can pre-order all of our upcoming DVD’s
and save some cash. About 30 days before each release date, we will email
you about this. Working on more contests. The Guinea Pig contest is almost
over; check it out at
www.guineapigfilms.com if you don't already know about it. On future
DVDs we'll have more of our graphic covers for the real gorehounds who
want their DVD’s blood soaked and not retailer safe so you can show the
kiddies. We have more exciting films lined up that we haven't announced
due to the red tape of figuring out distribution but we're almost there.
We're also working on the production of some really off-the-wall films, as
some of you already know, but that's another story. Here are a couple of
more websites with info on our upcoming releases.
Check em out...
http://www.cyberpunkfilms.com/
http://www.menbehindthesun.com/
Cyberpunkfilms is new...if you have seen any of the films, send us a
review and we will put it on the site and give you credit, URL address and
whatever. You might get something and you might not.
So that's it...No that's not it but I'm not going to say anymore since I
won't have anything else to say in the next letter.

Unearthed Films
3.11.04
Hey Guys!
Stephen from Unearthed here to give you the skinny on the happenings and
lowdown of what's going on at Unearthed Films. I do apologize for
Unearthed disappearing for a little bit. We are working on a new
distribution deal right now so as you can guess, it's a lot of work and we
will be back on track for the summer. The new distributors we are talking
to will get all of our films into all of the major retailers so this is a
good thing and our films we be a lot easier to find.
We will start releasing the films one a month and will continue to do so
till we hit two a month. As you can guess we have a lot of films we
haven't announced yet, but we will around the end of the month.
We finally started work on Rock and Rule and the anamorphic master
is being struck as I write this. Extras are finally showing up from
Nelvana so a lot of work is being put into this animated masterpiece that
I hope all of you will really appreciate.
Devil Doctor Woman and The Guinea Pig’s Greatest Cuts, (aka
the Slaughter Special) is almost finished, menu design is done and
tightening up the subtitles. The Guinea Pig Box Set will be just around
the corner.
Pinocchio 964 is finished and we are finishing the subtitles for
the Shozin Fukui Interview that will be an extra on the disc.
Rubber's Lover is in the finishing stages as well.
Aftermath / Genesis Double Feature. Waiting on Nacho Cerda
to finish mixing the 5.1 surround sound for Aftermath. This is an extra
bonus so we decided the wait is worth the surround sound experience for
one of the most repelling films ever made.
Black Sun is done, looks phenomenal and we are waiting to finalize
the new distribution deal to release it. Again I do apologize for the
wait.
For now check out the official site for the DVD release.
http://www.menbehindthesun.com/
We will be making more convention and film festival appearances and we are
working on some major things I’m not allowed to discuss yet or at least on
this website. We will keep you posted as the news comes in.

Hey guys, a couple of quick updates on our
upcoming films. Figured we would let you guys know what's going on behind
the scenes.
Black Sun: The Nanking Massacre
Working hard and almost done. We're fine tuning the subtitles due to
finding a couple of last minute errors. This will be the first ever
official release of this historical film.
Devil Doctor Woman / Making of Devil Doctor Woman / Slaughter Special
Triple Feature AKA Guinea Pig DVD #4
Finally received the elements from Japan and we're already looking at the
compression check discs. I do apologize for the wait. We had to wait for
the Slaughter Special and it took a little bit of time finding it.
As you know, the Slaughter Special was not included in the Guinea Pig
box set from Germany since it was not available and we had to wait for it
to make the perfect collection. We also had some scenes added to it since
it's the greatest hits of the Guinea Pig films and Android of Notre
Dame and Mermaid in a Manhole were not included. You can't have
the greatest hits without some of the greatest spills if you catch my
drift. Also, Chas Balun will be creating the DVD cover for this
infamous title. He's working on it as we speak. If you want to see any of
his work go to
www.chasbalun.net
Rubber's Lover
Now getting more closer than ever. The DVD will include a new interview
with Shozin Fukui, his 1987 short Gerorisuto and will be
presented in its original full frame aspect ratio. Trailers and a Gallery
will also be present. Menu design is done, finishing up the subtitles.
Pinocchio 964
Being completed at the same time as Rubber's Lover. The DVD will
include a new interview with Shozin Fukui, his 1988 short
Caterpillar and will be presented in its original full frame aspect
ratio. Trailers and a Gallery will also be present. Menu design is done,
finishing up the subtitles.
I just finished watching both and they look gorgeous. Cyberpunk fans will
go out of their minds when they see these.
Aftermath / Genesis Double Feature
Materials are on their way from Nacho Cerda! We are looking at a
late spring release. It will not disappoint.
Rock and Rule
We have been getting tons and tons of email for this title. This animated
classic will be ready for a summer release in 2004. Working on all aspects
of the film and figuring out what's going on with distribution for it. Due
to the immense amount of email we have been getting for this film I was
wondering if you guys can do us a favor; Please sign up above to the
Rock and Rule | DVD Newsletter group we started.
With over 20 to 30 emails a day about this title, it's starting to flood
our email boxes and it takes us a long time to answer them all. If you
join the newsletter, all of your questions will be answered and you will
be the 1st to know what's going on with this title.
Revenge of Billy the Kid
Waiting on everything for this title. The cover will also be designed by
the great Chas Balun.
Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts
Waiting on everything for this title so it will be awhile.
Also, we have a couple more films in the pipeline we're about to announce.
I can't say what they are just yet but here's a tease. One over the top
gorefest that should give the gorehounds something to write home about.
One prequel to one of the biggest films of the year. Two animated OAV's
that were made into a live action film that took the world by storm and
last but not least. A horror film that should belong in every horror fan
or DVD aficionado's library.
So that's it. I just want to say thank you guys and gals very much for
checking out our site and reading this little update of ours. It means a
lot to us and I hope that you enjoy every DVD we release. This will most
likely be the last update before the new year so Happy Holidays from
everyone here at Unearthed Films.

BOY MEETS GIRL IS NOW AVAILABLE!

A man meets a woman in a bar and goes home

to watch her home porno movies, the woman slips something into his drink
and the man passes out. Hours later he awakes to find himself strapped to
a dentist chair and the woman and her accomplice hovering around him. An
unrelenting film of true horror that poses disturbing questions that
everyone has thought of at one time or another.

ELECTRIC DRAGON 80,000 VOLTS!!!!
Yep,
you heard it right. Sogo Ishii's extreme cyberpunk film is now
under the Unearthed Film’s banner. Starring Tadanobu Asano from
Ichi the Killer and Masatoshi Nagase from Gojoe,
Mystery Train. This high voltage, rock and roll film storms out of the
gate and in your face with outrageous visuals and a pulse pounding
soundtrack sure to make your blood pump and your senses reel.
What's the story about? Check this out: A young boy is struck by
lightning. It stimulates the reptilian part of his brain so he becomes
violent and starts kicking ass. Each time he gets busted they give him
shock treatments to calm him down. As each shock treatment commences it
unleashes more of his reptilian brain making him more violent. By the time
he's grown up he becomes electrified to the max. What's Dragon Eye
Morrison to do with the megawatts of power coursing through his body? He
gets rid of it by playing high voltage rock and roll, discharging
the electricity through his guitar.
And if that's not enough high voltage for you, a hitman by the name of
Electric Buddha comes onto the scene killing gangsters with his
high-powered love of electrified technological devices. And get this, he's
schizophrenic and has to battle himself several times to gain control over
himself. Why does he have to gain mastery of his psychotic episodes? To do
battle with Dragon Eye Morrison that's why. An all out electrified rock
and roll battle for the supremacy of Tokyo!
Sogo Ishii's visual style in this film is truly out of this world and it
should leave your senses on the floor. No kidding, I saw this film and had
to release it. The DVD will have a ton of extras, anamorphic widescreen,
5.1 and DTS sound. The soundtrack for the film truly kicks major ass so
those with powerful systems should watch it with the volume cranked.
A quick tidbit on Rock and Rule. We apologize for the wait guys,
we're working on the rights to release a CD soundtrack of all the music at
the same time and as you know, music rights are a little bit of a hassle.
But if everything goes as planned, a separate CD release and the double
disc set could have a 3rd disc in it with the music as well. Hope this
helps you understand the hold up on Rock and Rule.
8.18.03
Figured I'd give a quick update on the
projects we've been working hard on here at Unearthed Films.
Evil Dead Trap 2 came out August 5th, which was only a couple of days
ago, so do us a favor and pick it up. Sequel in name only, Evil Dead Trap 2
should satisfy your craving for the weirdest in Japanese horror.
We're working hard on Black Sun - The Nanking Massacre, T.F. Mou's sequel
to Men Behind the Sun 731. Just as disturbing and an instant classic. It's more
than a mere horror film due its historically accurate portrayal of the
atrocities that occurred in Nanking during the Japanese occupation of the city
in 1937. Our release will be the first time the film will ever have been made
available to the general public due to its unflinching depiction of the terrible
acts of violence perpetrated upon the residents of Nanking by the Japanese army.
It will be our first anamorphic release. Extras will include a 63 minute
documentary film called "Why We Fight - The Battle for China", a B&W film made
in the 1940's by director Frank Capra. The film is a little politically
incorrect in its ultra patriotism owing to the fact that it was produced during
the Second World War, however, it gives a fascinating and informative overview
of the events that led up to the "Rape of Nanking". It also includes some
footage shot by Reverend Henry Magee during the actual massacre at Nanking.
We're also working on an interactive map of Nanking and compiling historical
documents and photos. Looks to be a November / December release.
Also, we have completed work on the infamous British film Boy Meets Girl.
Banned for 7 years in the UK and finally available for the first time in the US,
this shocker is bound to please.
We have a plethora of extras for this release: comparisons of rehearsal footage to the completed scenes, director's commentary and the complete shooting script in PDF format.
Here are the full specs:

Waiting on more extras for the release of Rock and Rule. We find more
exciting stuff everywhere we look. We obtained a copy of the Making of R&R and
some actual music videos that were being run on MTV when the film was initially
released. Searching for better copies of them since the only version we have in
our possession is a dupe from a video made back in 1984. A little scratchy but
it gives us more to hunt for. More information will be released in the coming
months.
Rubber's Lover and Pinocchio 964 are on their way from Japan as I
write this newsflash. We are trying to get in contact with Shozin Fukui to see
if we can obtain any worthy extras to add to these crazy japanese cyberpunk
classics. We will see...
So that's a quick update on what we have been working on. Thanks for taking the
time to read this and if you want updates on what we're doing on a little bit of
a more personal level, join one of our many newsletters. The Rock and Rule
newsletter is for info on the film to keep you up to date on release dates,
extras and any other happenings. The Unearthed Newsletter will keep you up to
date on our latest acquisitions, convention appearances, and film showings and
contests that we have planned.
